What up y'all

hey sorry its been a while, ive just been kind of busy...

any hoo, i finally feel like i have my racing legs back. I was pretty sick for a while and i looked worse than a beginner at hobby park, but on a ride with chaput and danny i feel like im back where i used to be. The road racing has definately helped with my climbing. i cannot wait for more mountain bike racing, i mean racing road is fun and all, but mountain is what i LOVE. I finally got a training plan, and now im gonna stick to it and hopefully be able to consistantly finish in the top 10 in my home expert races.

On another note, i have recently been informed that i am talking too much shit, and that i have been offending people. First and foremost, i am very sorry if i have offended anybody or rubbed somebody the wrong way. I dont feel that i talk a big game, or talk shit, but if and when i do its all in good fun. Also if you dont talk shit at the shop, you will sink. You cannot survive if you do not hold your own. I hate cocky people, and i hope i do not come off as one.

YAY ROAD BIKES!

AIGHT Y'ALL, the assault wasnt exactly the most successful assault. As i snack on my delicious 3 dollar breakfast at Quotations, T-cowie walk in and announces that the assault was canceled. He said that the weather was going to be too bad to ride and that the officials were recomending that the participants not ride today. However, it was really our beloved coach squirrel looking out for out little skinny asses. He in not so many words said DO NOT DO THE 100k! i mean i love the idea of training and all, but not riding cesar's head is coo wit me too...HOWEVERRRRRRR, wes Dickerson was like "hey guys its all good, im gonna do the ride tomorrow!" so...we did the 60k today, and tomorrow in beautiful weather, we're gonna do the 100k! if you guys were at hobby park, you all know that i got my ass kicked, and i would have ended up in 7th in beginner men 30-39 (wes made this information audibly available to everybody in the shop as he informed me....) -anyway i know know that after my awesome time of de-training, i need to get my ASS IN GEAR, so i have no problem riding tomorrow, im excited, bring that shit ON! and i got a new bike, its a dirt jumper and i plan on riding everyday. If im not on the XC bike or road bike, then i plan on working on skills and such at the pump track or adventure village. I figure that if i ride every day with like sunday to rest (no religious reference) i dont think i can give my legs the change to "recover" so to speak from their soon to be abusive workouts!

P.S. Id just like to say congrats to St. Marie for getting a loser cruiser stuck in the mud during the Carmichael camp. and now ode to St. Marie

Im in a DITCH mutha fucka im in a ditch! I got my wheels in the mud and they're spinnin and shit! Fuck roads mutha fucka im in a ditch!

Quote of the day!

I quote...

"Don't so cocaine when you're pregnant, your children will look odd!"

Yaaa About That.....

So i really want to do the Assault on the Carolina's this weekend, however i didn't do so well last year because i just didn't finish. It started raining, and i was ok with that, i was surprisingly comfortable on the climbs, then the descents started. I started to get a little colder, and then hail came. That just made it fun, it was kind of cool cuz everybody started slowing down but since had my pro m frames which are basically like a massive windshield. I got one of those sketchy flats that you hear the air hissing out of like the valve hole and then it stops. So i was freezing, riding on a ticking time bomb, and i still hadnt started up Cesares Head. (ya i know i prob misspelled that). I stopped at a gas station and found jockey, and we both agreed to throw in the towel. This year i really want to finish. That is the only reason im doing it, i just really dont want to go out with the determination i have now and have the same conditions.

Can we just do it sunday? anybody? thoughts?

Quote of the day!

I quote...

"Tim just give him your butt!"

First real training ride (other than base)

So yesterday, me and the captain went on what i thought was gonna beee a really painful ride. We took it pretty easy which was nicee, but it was also preetty intense. We rode up grassy then down upper sycamore, and thats when it got intense. Hee was like, hey timmy hold my wheel, i was likee haha ok! ya about that. I guess i forgot i was ridding with "out of control #2". Ya it was sketch just looking at his wheel and not thee trail for the most part...maybe thats why is was sketchy...hmmm....anyway, we then went to north slope and tore it up cuz there are only a few more days to ride it! dammit....so overall it wass a good ride, i learned some new techniques and new super sneak lines...GREAT SUCCESS! peace out girlscout!

For the record...

I plan on keeping up with the blog from now on bitches...

Its Been a While

Yo, so its obviously been a while, but i just did my first race of the season with the rest of the sycamore boys. It went worse than i could have ever imagined. I got lapped by marions wife (who started 10 min behind the expert class) and i blew up on the first hill. Ya its the first race of the season, but i thought id atleast be at the back of the pro/expert class, and not at the front of the pro women's category. Oh well, i love mtb racing and its always fun no matter how painful. T cowie got 3rd in a firld of 10 pros (do work son!) and wes D got 6th. Hell ya boys Tsali is lookin good already!

MY OWN PUMP TRACK!

hey y'all, its been a while since my last post, with getting home and setting up jobs and internship and such its been a little crazy. Well, my parents finally let me build my own pump track in the back yard. for those of you back in the 828, its about the size of eddie's pump track. I got almost 3 berms, 6 rollers, 2 tables, and 5 blisters, and its almost done. If any of you are in the NO-VA area, (and are from the 828) you are welcome to crash at my place and ride some pump track...ill add pics soon for y'all.

Greenbrier Madness

Well looks like its time for a race report. This being my first race of the season, i felt pretty good about how i did. I felt like crap off the start for some reason for the first two laps, but the third lap everything clicked, i went from base pace to race pace, it was awesome but delayed. The climb hurt a lot but i was able to keep my pace on the hill for the whole race. I felt most confident on the descent, i was fastest there, and i was able to pass everybody and that has passed me on the climb. I ended finishing 10th...that was my goal, to get top 10...there were 30 in my category i think.....Tristan got a flat on the first lap due to a un-sealing stans wheel. he threw a tube in there and still finished 8th in the PRO CATEGORY! Matt well got 8th in the men expert as well and St. Marie took home the win for men Expert! here are some photos......oh ya it was crazy muddy

Home sweet home

So its friday night and we are at my house(resting up for Greenbrier) tristan and St.Marie went to bed at like 11 as the rest of us stayed up and watched TV. Those guys are SUPER cereal. I heard that tomorrow is supposed to be pretty gross with thunder storms and lightning. Which will most likely result in a muddy pre-ride, then resulting in a torn-up mud bath of a race track! FUN FUN FUN. I dont mind the mud(Mt. Snow anybody?) i fee lthat i do better...it just sucks climbing in it. But descending is alright by me!. anyway gotta get SOME sleep before tomorrow, so ill give y'all updates on the weekend tomorrow.

Goin Home

Sup Guys, on a lighter note, the team and i are headed home. The majority of the guys are looking to use the Greenbrier race to qualify for nationals or get points for worlds. Due to one of my finishes at a collegiate conference race, i have already qualified. The drive is gonna be a long 8 hour trek, but i got a kid that is naturally caffeinated and hyper 24/7..the infamous Little "E"..im actually looking foreword to the trip because hes funny as shit, but i dont think that he will ever calm down! i hope he brings straws....ill post pictures of Captain America, Horse Tamer, and Jockey if he comes from the race..

Death at Sea Otter

hey guys...im assuming that most of you have heard but for those that havent sheck it out

04-21) 15:27 PDT MONTEREY --

A well-known San Jose mountain bike racer and innovator killed during a world-renowned mountain bike festival in Monterey

over the weekend died of head and neck injuries, a Monterey County deputy coroner said Monday.Mark Reynolds, 48, crashed

into a dirt embankment on a relatively flat portion of the downhill course during the Sea Otter Classic on Saturday at the

Laguna Seca Recreation Area. He was taken by helicopter to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, where he died.An autopsy

conducted Monday revealed that Mr. Reynolds suffered fatal injuries in the accident, deputy coroner Thomas Jenkins said.

Initial reports that Mr. Reynolds, an amateur racer, may have suffered a medical problem before he crashed were incorrect. The

accident happened near the finish line of the downhill course which, according to race organizers, contains "a great mix of

jumps, turns, pedaling sections and hi-rev speed traps" and "rewards racers who demonstrate fitness, precision handling,

braking and pedaling skills."In the downhill race, cyclists compete one at a time against the clock, and the course usually takes

2 1/2 to 3 minutes to negotiate.Mr. Reynolds was racing in the amateur category for 40- to 49-year-old men and had

competed in past years, said Frank Yohannan, president of the Sea Otter Classic."We're deeply saddened," Yohannan said.

"Mark was an avid cyclist who loved the sport and who was a mentor to a lot of kids. He was a wonderful representative of the

sport of cycling."According to Yohannan, hundreds of competitors raced on the course without incident, and the downhill route

had been inspected and certified as safe. Mr. Reynolds, like all competitors, was wearing a helmet.Mr. Reynolds, a software

developer, was the inventor of the Dualrailleur Guide, a $125 plastic device that attaches to the front derailleur of a mountain

bike and ensures smooth gear shifting under race conditions. He sold the device at biking events and by mail order from his

home.He was a native of Redwood City and a frequent cyclist in the Santa Cruz area. Fellow riders called him inspirational,

devoted and helpful."He would make you feel like you could do anything on a bike," said his friend Kris Vantornhout. "He was

such a gentle and beautiful soul."Mr. Reynolds was also a snowboarder, a golfer and an airplane pilot. His death is believed to

be the first in the 18-year history of the Sea Otter Classic, which this year drew 45,000 fans to the four-day competition. He is

survived by his wife of 13 years, Margo Maida, of San Jose, and by a daughter, Kristin Reynolds, of Sunnyvale. Plans for a

memorial service are pending.

TIRES!!

hey y'all, just made my maxxis order and now its time to play the waiting game! although they should be here for greenbrier. speaking of which, the last two times i have raced greenbrier, i have had either a mechanical or a separated shoulder which makes me a bit apprehensive...My friend t-cowie has helped me train and i feel physically motivated, but there just seems to be this weird cloud of doubt/nervousness hovering over me...i guess we'll find out eventually!

There's a first time for everything

Hey i just created this blog... obviously this is my first post but i thought it would be a cool way to check out the mtb scene. lots of my friends have  blog and i thought it would be fun to have one of my own..
